NUMBER WITH NO NAME

is a power trio based in the three-border region where Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands meet.

Since their formation, Number With No Name has played numerous stages in their region – including the Kimiko Festival in Aachen, the atmospheric KuKuK Waldbühne at the German-Belgian border crossing Köpfchen, and the renowned "Montagskonzert" series at the Aachen Domkeller. Their song Future-Proof even made its way into the program of Belgian Radio (BRF1) in 2021.

The songwriting is influenced by lots of different styles of music.

The founder and bandleader note that it's not his intention to follow a single genre with his music.

In Phil's opinion, songs are not born out of the genre but out of an emotion, where the musical style has to match.

​

With his bandmates, he has found companions who share his view and contribute to round out the whole thing.

Due to the different styles, something leveled off and developed into what could be roughly described as independent post-grunge.

Verses clean and powerful refrains are just some components to be named.

Ingredients of folk, grunge, reggae, and rock, flavored with lap steel and funky bass lines, partly refined with a pinch of delay, sometimes deviled with hot distortion, or just 'clean' and rhythmical. All that describes the sound of Number With No Name and lets no song sound like another.

 

Trivia:

As the COVID-19 pandemic hit, when borders were closed due to lockdowns and travel restrictions, the band came up with the idea of calling their music style "rock beyond borders". During this time, it was impossible for the trio, living in a border region across different countries, to meet in person and jam together. The name fit perfectly – not only in the literal sense, but also figuratively, as it reflects their musical freedom.

The band is named after a song by "Ben Harper and Relentless 7."

Band History:
It all began in 2010 when Phil started looking for musicians to finally bring his songs to life – and he found them.

In 2013, the project got its name: Number With No Name – inspired by a song from an artist who had a big musical influence on Phil.

From that moment on, it was clear: The Number With No Name was born.

Philip Offermanns – Guitars & vocals, founder and mastermind of the band. Also responsible for songwriting, arrangements & groove – as well as all artwork, graphic and web design and the holy merch :-D

Thomas Lausberg – Drums & percussion.

Provides more than just rhythm – he brings fresh ideas for arrangements and groove too.
